This is a Heavy 20th Century Ship Binnacle. It depicts a cylindrical wood case/cabinet stand with a brass conical hood/top. There is a correcting iron sphere at each side of the upper part of the cylindrical case, one is red and the other one is green. They allow the compass to accommodate when the ship is moving. The magnetic compass was mounted in this binnacle that protect it and also other navigational instruments of a ship.
