19th Century American carved cherry desk, designed by Leopold Eidlitz and made by Weller, Brown and Mesmer, Buffalo, New York, for the New York State Assembly Chamber. Front includes brass numerals ”67” and the drawer bears several scrawled names and labels, including: William T. Simpson (Patchogue), William Dinehart (Columbia County), Willoughby W. Babcock (Steuben County), George Brown (Brooklyn). Light wear from use, replaced leather, interior of drawers lacking inserts.<\/span><\/p>\n
