\nThis is an antique rector’s prie-dieu chair. An English, rosewood ecclesiastical prayer seat, dating to the Regency period, circa 1820.<\/p>\n

Fascinating display chair, with delightful quality and aesthetic appeal
\nDisplaying a desirable aged patina and in good order throughout
\nSelect stocks present deep caramel hues and fine grain interest
\nProfessionally reupholstered in the traditional manner, with a tasteful foliate needlepoint<\/p>\n

Superb backrest adorned with a double scroll crest rail with oval centrepiece
\nDistinctive ears host turned finials above and below a faceted mount
\nExceptional barley twist supports frame the back rest with aplomb
\nLightly cushioned, the back rest occupies a broad T-shape with fretwork below<\/p>\n

Set at a comfortable height of 43cm (17”) the plump cushion accentuated with brocade trim
\nFront legs repeat the barley twist motif, terminating in tall bun feet with inset castors
\nGracefully canted rear legs also ride smoothly upon a pair of castors<\/p>\n

This is a striking antique rector’s prie-dieu chair, with a superb display appeal and fine craftsmanship. Can be easily reupholstered to individual taste, but ready to enjoy as is. Solid joints and construction, delivered ready for the home.<\/p>\n
