\n Offering a superb example of American machine age design and construction. <\/p>\n

Fashioned of solid brass, some of which is copper-plated and patinated, this iconic lamp stands about 19 ½ inches tall, including the finial. The weighted, brass-clad base measures about six inches in diameter, giving the lamp a solid and visually substantial foundation. The shade has an ample size of 14 inches in diameter. <\/p>\n

As you can see, there is some compromise to the bronze patina on the top of the shade, and some minor damage to the brass itself (creases, small dents). <\/p>\n

This lamp is particularly well suited to be positioned on a desk or other workplace, as the light is nicely diffused and any size bulb (with a standard-sized base) can be employed (note the last picture). Some light comes through the space between the bottom and top parts of the shade, a standard arrangement for this type of machine age lamp. The wiring appears to be original and in good working condition, as is the toggle switch on the base.<\/p>\n
