Vintage Design
Mahogany Veneer Small Secretary with Dark Grey Marble top.
It has a top drawer, underlined by a double bottom moulding and offering a storage depth of 7.5 cm.
Underneath, a flap reveals a Tabernacle with an Oak finish. The latter is composed of a niche embellished on the front by a panel cut into two Ogives and supported in the middle by a dummy pillar. This space also has three drawers, whose fronts are decorated with small chiselled brass drawer knobs giving the illusion that there are four of them. The work area is covered with a leather in shades of Green, embellished with a central Vignette, Corner Fleurons and a Gilded frieze along the edge.
At the bottom, the Secretary has two doors with walnut locks, thus avoiding any deformation. They house four other drawers, arranged in two rows, made of Light Oak and assembled in Dovetails.
Each of the three main doors can be locked and the cabinet is supplied with a key adapted to its three locks.
The front uprights are made of sheathed Pilasters. They are crowned with busts of women and finished with claw feet, in wood, with a brown/green patina. The rear feet are straight.
One will appreciate the reasonable dimensions of this Secretary, as well as its great Sobriety, due in particular to its Wire Mahogany, wood, by definition, very modestly veined.
