Contemporary Design
Brittany-based Miltonpriest is an artisanal design and manufacturing studio that specializes in handmade furniture and objects. Led by English designer Frank Maximilian, the studio brings together traditional craft processes and local materials to create informal furnishings with a poetic flair.
Like most pieces in the Miltonpriest collection, the Peanut Gallery Side Table was inspired by an evocative historical reference: Birdland, a jazz club in New York named after its regular headliner, Charlie “Yardbird” Parker. The venue carried the bird theme into the décor of the interior, which seated 500 people and had space for a full orchestra. It also had a long bar, tables, booths, and a fenced-in area, which was nicknamed “the peanut gallery” and was reserved for teenagers who were allowed to watch but not drink.
The cage in Miltonpriest’s Peanut Gallery is made of powder-coated steel and is available in over 200 RAL colors. The top is finished in marble—different options are available. Get in contact with us if you’d like to place a custom order.
