A spectacular and iconic pair of Scandinavian Modern lounge chairs designed by Alvar Aalto and produced by Artek.Consistent with Aalto’s predilection for bentwood design,these chairs feature comfortable, sturdy cantilever frames in blonde birch wood. Navy blue strap webbing provides a supportive seat and backrest that melds to the sitter’s weight. Originally designed in the 1930s, this model has been continually reproduced for its timeless appeal. These examples are of a later 20th century production with the same authentic quality and craftsmanship that made the earlier model an early staple of Danish midcentury design.No signed.
