Highly desirable barber shop collectible item consisting of a German straight edge razor with a molded cream, red, and green colored celluloid handle; theme is a nude standing sideways with a green wreath below and red roses on top and bottom of the handle. The back blade side reveals manufactured by “Crown & Sword Razor Works Wald–Germany” embossed at the base of the blade (see image). Handle side shows their crown logo and the number “No. 871″. Opposite side has cream colored celluloid handle. Company was founded in the mid 19th century and is known for fine quality knives such as this example. Straight edge razor is in all original excellent condition; the celluloid handle is clear, clean, and finely defined ,as the standing sideways nude is quite pronounced in silhouette relief., The concave blade is still sharp and retains most of its original finish.
