An impressive Large wardrobe steamer trunk travel case from the early 20th c. The interior features 5 drawers, 11 full hangers, 1 cloth screen and a lined storage box. While designed for travel for sea travel back then, this piece is perfect for use within the home/interior design. Comes with functional lock and 2 keys. The drawers side in the trunk has it own locking system with key. This trunk is very solid and weight over 60 lbs and is rock solid, was originally designed for travel sea. Leather handle in very good shape and fully functional.
Note that this trunk still retains a few travel stickers from Holland America Line, and others, some over 80 years old, witnessing the age of the trunk .
This trunk was owned by Ambassador of Uruguay to the USA in 1963 Juan Felipe Yriart, who inherited the trunk from his father. The Trunk was acquired from ambassador Yriart estate in Winchester VA.
Preowned/vintage with definite signs of use/wear: marks/fading/digs/patina to the thick leather case and trims; the interior shows signs of use including some fading to fabric lining, marks/wear to external material and leather straps.
This substantial wardrobe measures approximately 43in H x 21in L x 24in D.
