A set of fire tools by Albert Paley in formed and fabricated steel with a blackened finish, comprising a stand with three implements – – poker, shovel, and tongs. An exceptionally executed and decadent design with sharp outlines evocative of a rough sketch in charcoal, the set is a freestanding sculpture that just happens to serve a practical function. Impressed to base, “Albert Paley 1996”, and registered as “DF 1996 01” with the Paley Studio Archives, this set is from an edition of 20 examples. Very heavy.
