18th century nantucket fireside ladder back side chair, circa 1780 or earlier, having characteristic ball finials atop sausage and ball turned standards, holding three shaped back slats, above a rush seat, raised on short turned legs braced by dowel stretchers; in very old red paint.
The chair remains in very good condition, with rubs to top of finals and the expected flexibility.

Seat height: 13 in high.
