Ultra rare lounge chair, model 323, designed by W.H. Gispen in 1956 for Kembo.
In 1953 W.H. Gispen left his own company due to disagreements with the shareholders and started a new company Kembo. In the early years of Kembo he made some of his best designs.
This particular lounge chair is very rare, I’ve never seen it before. Only made in small numbers. It is shown in the book: ‘W.H. Gispen Serie Producten 1923-1960’ on page 137.
The chair is newly upholstered with a beautiful cream/grey wool fabric by Bute Scotland. Also the foam is renewed. It has a black metal frame.
Fantastic chair and very comfortable seating as well.
The chair is in excellent condition, only little traces of wear on the metal frame.
