For your consideration is this pair of No. 5-82 “Searsburg” easy chairs designed in the 1930s by Herman de Vries as part of Cushman Furniture’s Colonial Creations Collection. They are constructed of solid rock maple and assembled with mortise and tenon joinery without the use of any metal hardware. The frames are strong, sturdy, and comfortable with a relaxed, slightly reclined seating position and contours which conform to the sitter. The chairs have their original metal manufacturer’s tags.
