This unique and interesting double-sided figurative sculpture is unsigned, but presumed to have been made in the United States in circa 1965 in the period midcentury style. The sculpture is a cast metal relief or intaglio study of an Indigenous Chief which has been cold-painted on both sides. The side in high relief is painted a solid black and the inside is painted in vivid colors in the realistic style which results in a very interesting double-sided sculpture with unique perspectives. There is a small brass button in the bottom left corner indicating there is a patent pending. The sculpture sits on a contemporary polished black stone stand with a simple channel that holds it upright.
