This set of cast and bronze finished metal sculptural bookends were made in 1928, presumably in the United States, in the American Colonial style. Each bookend does have a manufacturer’s mark cast into it in a bottom corner, but deemed illegible and no specific maker could be identified. The bookends are quite detailed and depict a Western cowboy on horseback hunched over with the horses poised to transcend a steep incline. These detailed bookends were finished with a bronze or brass patina.
