Vintage Design
This pair of side chairs was designed by Wilhelm Ritz for Wilkhahn in 1962 and produced by Wilkhahn in the 1960s. The wooden frames are made of bentwood which is joint by a wooden wedge on both sides. The upholstered seats and backrests are covered with black Skai.
Ritz was a graduate of the Ulm School of Design in Germany and the 402 chair was his diploma project. Its design was the start of the Wilkhahn Programm 400 series.
